Rediscover Your Sexual Identity: Embrace Self-Exploration and Empowerment

Our sexuality therapy addresses a range of topics that may bring someone to seek guidance and understanding. Some of these topics include:

  • Sexual Dysfunction: Our therapists are experienced in helping individuals navigate issues such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, difficulty achieving orgasm, or pain during intercourse. We provide a supportive environment where you can openly discuss your concerns and work towards enhancing your sexual well-being.

  • Low Libido: If you’re experiencing a lack of interest in sexual activity, our therapy sessions can provide insights and strategies to help reignite your passion and improve your overall quality of life. We explore the underlying factors contributing to your low libido and work together to develop solutions that align with your needs and desires.

  • Sexual Orientation and Identity: Questioning your sexual orientation or gender identity can be a complex and deeply personal journey. Our specialized therapists offer a safe and non-judgmental space to explore and better understand your sexual orientation, providing guidance, support, and validation along the way. We also address the unique struggles faced by individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, including societal stigma, discrimination, and the challenges of coming out to friends, family, and society.

  • Sexual Trauma: Survivors of sexual assault or abuse may carry emotional and psychological burdens that impact their sexual health. Our therapists are trained in trauma-informed care and can help you navigate the healing process. Through therapy, we support you in processing your experiences, addressing trauma-related symptoms, and reclaiming a healthy and fulfilling sexuality. We acknowledge the heightened vulnerability of the LGBTQ+ community to sexual violence and work towards creating a safe space for healing and growth.

  • Gender Dysphoria: For individuals who experience gender dysphoria, our therapists provide guidance and support as you explore your gender identity and navigate the journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. We offer a compassionate and inclusive environment where you can freely express your feelings, hopes, and challenges related to gender identity.

  • Relationship Issues: Sexuality plays a significant role in intimate relationships, and couples may seek therapy to address issues such as mismatched libidos, sexual boredom, or communication difficulties related to sex. Our therapists offer a safe and supportive environment to explore these concerns, improve communication, and cultivate a fulfilling and satisfying sexual connection. We also address the unique dynamics and challenges that arise in LGBTQ+ relationships, fostering understanding and resilience.

  • Intersectionality and Community Support: We recognize the importance of addressing the intersections of sexuality with other aspects of identity, such as race, ethnicity, culture, and religion. Our therapists provide a culturally sensitive and inclusive approach, understanding the unique struggles faced by individuals who may experience multiple forms of discrimination or marginalization. We also emphasize the significance of community support and can help connect you with LGBTQ+-affirming resources and networks.

Embark on this transformative journey with us, and together, we'll navigate the path to self-discovery, self-empowerment, and a fulfilling and authentic sexual identity.

Here are four steps that may be involved in working on sexuality therapy with a patient:

  • Assessment:

The first step in any therapy process is to assess the patient’s needs and goals. The therapist will work with the patient to identify the specific concerns they have related to their sexuality, such as low libido, sexual dysfunction, or difficulty with intimacy. This will involve taking a detailed history of the patient’s sexual experiences and relationships, as well as any medical or psychological factors that may be affecting their sexual functioning.

  • Education:

Once the patient’s concerns have been identified, the therapist will work with them to educate them about their sexuality. This may involve discussing topics such as anatomy, sexual response, and sexual health. The therapist may also provide the patient with resources, such as books or websites, to help them further educate themselves about sexuality.

  • Skill-building:
Depending on the patient’s concerns, the therapist may work with them to develop specific skills to address their sexual issues. For example, if a patient is struggling with low libido, the therapist may teach them techniques for increasing their sexual desire, such as mindfulness or erotic exploration. If a patient is experiencing sexual pain, the therapist may work with them on exercises to help them relax and become more comfortable with sexual touch.

  • Practice and follow-up:
Finally, the therapist will work with the patient to practice the skills they have learned and monitor their progress over time. This may involve giving the patient „homework” assignments to practice outside of therapy sessions, such as exploring their own body or practicing communication skills with a partner. The therapist will also regularly check in with the patient to see how they are progressing and make adjustments to the treatment plan as needed.
